“In a competition of love we would not be running against one another, but with one another. We would be trying to gain victory for all humanity. If I am a faster runner than you, you may feel bad seeing me pass you in the race, but if you know that we are both racing to make our world better, you will feel good knowing that we are all racing towards a common goal, a mutual reward. In a competition of love we all share in the victory, no matter who comes in first.” — Muhammad Ali
Amen — awesome words that are being overlooked by so many in places of notoriety, they use badness instead of goodness to promote. They use vile language in front of women and children instead of love, goodness and mindfulness. it causes weakness! So many who claim allegiance to Muhammad Ali, yet they do not spread his love and peace on their platforms, they spread hate, they spread and promote violence, verbal and physical, which was everything Muhammad Ali was against. hate speech do not belong in the same sentence as love. What we need is more people like Muhammad Ali who will stand up for everything that is good, instead of spreading poison throughout the world, through all the main-stream media and social media. It’s a disease that needs to be eradicated. I hear people say that it’s only words, only words? Words have massive weight, they cause bullying and arrogance and antisocial behavior, they hurt children and family values, they start arguments and fighting which eventually can lead to war.
So, don’t tell me it’s only words, we need to bring back some older values of integrity and dignity, love and mindfulness. Before it’s too late and all the goodness is lost forever, where are all the uplifting television and movies gone? Unless it’s violence we want and destruction, nobody seems to want to know, remember Heaven can weigh, and highway to heaven? Programs and movies that promote love and caring, now we have new wave TV, like the new Sylvester Stallone series which is shocking and disgusting language would not have been aired years ago. Children see it and think it’s cool to be that way, then the kids grow up and become mothers and fathers and I use that term loosely, so it all spins out of control into disarray. You think I’m joking? You can’t turn on the TV these days without it, movie producers and writers have an obligation to do right! Instead of all this diatribe spreading, is the only way I can describe it, and why? As Teddy Atlas the boxing trainer once said, “We got to do better and try to be better people.”
Why? Because it’s the right thing to do!!. I have to vet everything my daughter sees on social media when I’m there to manage to do that. Elderly people and families can’t walk down the street without being bombarded with antisocial behavior from mindless idiots, anyone that stands up is usually attacked or assaulted in the streets and a lot of it stems from media these days. It is copied as if stars do it and say it then it must be cool. No it’s not right, you can’t do good and promote bad, just as happiness and sadness are two different emotions, good and evil, right and wrong. So, let’s not poison the minds of the young, we want to make this world a better place, then it has to start at the very heart of the matter, as you can’t grow love with hate, or shed light with darkness.
Writing this in the early hours of the morning is hard, and it tires me out doing it mentally, and I know that hardly anyone will bother to read it, so why do it? I refer back to what Teddy Atlas and Muhammad Ali, said above. Somebody needs to put the breaks on and pretty sharp. Before it’s too late, what kind of world do you want your children and grandchildren to grow up in?
