  • What are the underlying challenges and expectations?
African Views organization has been formed to mobilize, energize, and stimulate the intellectual and creative resources of all people in all countries. So that we may focus on those inherently bad paradigms that are adversely and inadvertently stifling the innovation of sustainable human development and growth around the world we love. The understanding and the awareness of these problems, as well as the opportunities for sustainable development, have been a major challenge for the past and immediate generations. We here now, individually and collectively, hold the responsibilities at all levels for improving the understandings and interactions between the human race and cultural strata. Thus, we are making it a better place for the next generation. People are central to that task, not the government or private interest organizations. The only way we can work for a common cause or common interest, to improve our conditions, is certainly through communication and collaboration at the population level. African Views is committed to developing an efficient communicative and collaborative system and we are looking forward to your contribution. We expect those who are passionate about innovative ways of solving social problems to support this trend and help in creating a more powerful ally for participatory development. Basically, it deals with voluntary participation in spreading knowledge and exchange of insight, as well as synergizing abilities and capabilities across cultural boundaries in order to take care of our future and the world we love. People can no longer expect governments to fulfill all regulatory services for social and human conditions by themselves while they wait on the side lines. It is exactly these kinds of expectations that create disconnections between a governing body of people and its society. Wherever such disconnect or lack of adequate communication exists between a government and its sovereign, unjust laws are made or good laws are unenforceable. Instead of shifting blames on governments or people, especially as it is common practice in developing countries, a shift in paradigms can ultimately be more useful: integrity begets accountability and it cannot be the other way around (not accountability begets integrity). This may sound rather too optimistic. But major changes and new emphases have already begun to appear on the development scene. There are still many organizations that keep asking you for money to keep feeding the third world’s people needs. Yet the old adage expresses common sense that when you give a man a fish and you'd feed him for a day. However, teach him how to fish and you'd feed him for a life time. People need to ask appropriate questions, especially when their expectations are not met. People need to know how to best demand for accountability when expected conditions for humanity are inadequate. People need to learn how things are working successfully elsewhere, and how they can use similar methods to improve things in their own domains. People need to dig further into deeper esoteric pockets to look for valuable information to help resolve common problems. People need to know that African Views framework is where they can participate in these kinds of activities. African Views framework enables academics and public observers to access information and publish dissertations, discourses, or literatures on any African related issues or subjects and collaborate -- free of charge. African Views services include copyrights for individual publications, merchant service for publishers, and other collaborative and information service provisions. Since ancient times, exchange of information has been the background for communication among people. Today, new technologies are becoming widely available for informing people, opening up avenues by which they may reach consensus for action. Indeed, a host of structural adjustments are profoundly taking place and generating new social economy in recent human interaction according to the UNDP. Societies are becoming more open to debate and markets are welcoming more individual initiatives; privatization and entrepreneurship are being encouraged. These structural adjustments make demands, and have direct economic and social effects on people wherever diversity is appreciated and viewed as strength for qualitative social and economic outreach. African Views recognizes these trends of opportunities as incentives for all to participate. This is why African Views is prioritizing cross cultural communication on multiple levels of humanity. This activity will generate a spontaneous and cumulative repository of information that is focused on African issues. Free exchange of information will be the motivation for communication and collaboration. As the world moves towards greater democracy, decentralization and the market economy, conditions will become more favorable for people to start steering their own course of change. However, it is vital to stimulate their awareness, participation, and capabilities. African Views framework is equipped with cutting edge technologies that are central to this task. Clearly, technology alone will not suffice without the dedication of committed individuals who encourage effective planning and implementation of communication and collaborative programs. • How does one cultivate trust?
Trust requires trustworthiness. By creating and maintaining a safe place where people can come together to ask questions, learn about others, teach, share valuable information, collaborate, discuss inter-personal socio cultural issues, and have open dialogues in order to find solutions-- an improvement in collective paradigms and newly inspire new visions can begin to develop. A development strategy that uses communication approaches can reveal people's underlying attitudes and traditional wisdom, help people to adapt their views and to acquire new knowledge and skills, and spread new social messages to large audiences. On a practical aspect, African Views proposes a value balance system that is focused on highlighting counterparty’s interests and validating stake holders on its framework. These options are available for people collaborating on international projects or offering products or services across national boundaries on the framework. When interests are identified on both ends, communication barriers are removed. The planned use of communication techniques, activities, and media gives people powerful tools both to experience a paradigm shift and actually to guide it. An intensified exchange of ideas among all sectors of society can lead to the greater involvement of people in a common cause. This is a fundamental requirement for major improvement and appropriate development. We do require a ethics and professionalism agreement form to be filled and submitted.
