About the event

The Spirit of Peace is an annual high-level conference of Indigenous traditional rulers, religious leaders, representatives of government, selected corporations, and relevant institutions, as well as professionals across continents. The Spirit of Peace Summit is designed as a program for healing for the society we have built with immense sacrifice, as well as to promote cultural sustainability and cultural harmony. We observe this celebration parallel to the UN in honor of Nelson Mandela Day. Myriad of cultural, social, and economic issues are presented and discussed including truth and reconciliation with positive resolutions. This is the third year of observing this annual program. We hereby extend the opportunity to take an active role in this initiative.

We are expecting or proposing to accomplish the following items on the agenda for this year:

EXPECTING:

· African Kings and Native American Chiefs make speeches on behalf of their subjects and participate in interfaith prayers and ceremonies for healing and harmony on July 17th, 2018 (all day)

· Various kings from Africa and indigenous traditional chiefs from the Americas participate and speak at the United Nations' observation conference of Nelson Mandela Day (100th Birthday) on July 18th (10am -12pm)

· Invite the President of Haiti, H.E. Jovenel Moïse and the President of Dominican Republic H.E. Danilo Medina Sánchez to speak on healing and rapprochement between their countries in observation of Nelson Mandela's legacy of Truth and Reconciliation session at the Ted Weiss Federal Building in Civic Center section of Lower Manhattan on July 18, (2:30-5pm)

· African and Caribbean individual countries economic, trade and investment promotion through their Stock Exchange performance presentations at the Ted Weiss Federal Building in Civic Center section of Lower Manhattan on July 19, (all day)

· Official Launching of the Institute of African Cultures and Traditions (Institute of Sustainability by Pan African Council of Traditional Authorities) – Museums, Libraries, Local knowledge channeling and custodial services.

· Presentation of AfroAsia Initiatives.

PROPOSING:

Portraits of leaders (Kings, Queens, Chief Sachem, and dignitaries attending the Spirit of Peace conference) – drawn by Theo Pencil, a young Ghanaian artist who draws leaders of the world with pencil – presented and exhibited at the United Nations in NYC during the week of the event. The realism of his drawings has captivated many people. His real name is Herophilus Boateng Kwaku Sarong but was given the name Theo Pencil by his friends because of the magic he performs with just a pencil. Please see sample of his work attached for reference.

· A reception at the United Nations for the visiting kings and Native chiefs. (note that Kings are being invited from all over Africa, Asia, Europe, and Chiefs are expected to attend from all part of the Americas including North and South America)

Please let us know if you are interested to schedule an appointment with your office to provide more in about the Spirit of Peace initiative and conference. Missions can contribute in many ways to the conference, from speaking at the event, sending delegations, country presentations, material distributions, trade and investment presentation, hosting, sponsorship venues, meetings and receptions for the kings and or Chief Sachems. The Spirit of Peace is a good is an important and very promising initiative. We are very pleased to inform you about. Also note that we are open to your ideas and suggestions. Please see the call for proposal on the archived page of previous activities: www.bit.ly/sop2018
